New Christmas Books Added to My TBR Pile

Books, books, and more books. That is the story of my life. I have hundreds of unread ones, yet I still want more. Can anyone else relate? Here are two recent additions to my To Be Read Pile.

After Ruby inherits her father's conveyance business, she discovers an old sleigh in a barn. Thinking she can build her business by offering rides during the long winter season, she spruces up the sleigh. However, somebody in town is unhappy, and Ruby's business falls prey to mishaps such as broken traces, ill horses, and avalanches.

Quinton falls into Ruby's life when he hires her sleigh to take his fiancée for a ride in the winter wonderland of Snowflake, Colorado. But when Ruby won't convey them across a frozen lake, his fiancée kicks up a fuss and leaves him cold.

Can Ruby and Quinton figure out who is trying to ruin her business? And will working together show them the warmth of love and the kindness of their Heavenly Father?

A stunning folktale about the Nativity, set on a chilly night in Bethlehem.

“Wake up, wake up, birds!” croaks Raven one December night. “A child is born!” Each bird longs to bring a gift to the newborn baby in the manger. Nightingale sings a sweet song; Rooster caws a special call; Stork plucks her feathers to make a pillow. “I have nothing to give,” thinks little Robin. But as the night grows colder, the fire keeping the stable warm burns lower and lower. Maybe even a tiny bird has her own way to show her love for the newborn Prince of Peace…

Illustrated in lush blues and golds, The Birds of Christmas invites children to join the flock gathering around the manger. This beautiful book is an unforgettable reminder of the wonder of Christmas and the priceless gift of compassion.

Sofia hops onto Abuela's lap to learn the story of the Three Kings and Three King's Day--El Día de Reyes. Filled with activities, special food, and an unexpected gift from Abuela, Sofia is eager to share all about Three King's Day when she grows up.

With charming and colorful illustrations by artist Jone Leal, Clayton brings the history and traditions of Three Kings Day to young readers. Christmas Picture Book Review: Jesus Calling Advent & Christmas Prayers by Sarah Young

If you are searching for a way to share Advent with your little one, then Jesus Calling Advent & Christmas Prayers by Sarah Young is the perfect choice. Geared for children ages 0 to 4, this simple retelling brings you and your child on a journey through the book of Isaiah, into the Gospels of Luke and John, and ends with the wonderful gift found in 2 Corinthians.

Along the way, artist Katya Longhi brings the story to life with her stunning artwork in soft and warm colors. Pastel yellow circles throughout the pages offer 25 short prayers to encourage daily prayer time and to help you and your child celebrate the birth of God's greatest gift to the world.

Everything about Jesus Calling Advent & Christmas Prayers is wonderful, beautiful, and touching. Young, who passed away earlier this year, was a well-known name in Christian publishing. Reading this book for little ones, it's easy to see why.

Highly recommended!
