In case you missed it, Great American Family has released the 2024 schedule for Great American Christmas. If you visit their website, you can learn more about their new movies and find lists of all their Christmas movies. 

The Countdown to Great American Christmas ticker says it is 47 days away. Which movie premiere are you most excited about?

You might think it's Sunday, because that is the day we drop Christmas news around here. But... life got in the way. Proving all things come together the way they should, the last 24 hours has been ripe with Christmas news.

Better Homes & Gardens shared this article yesterday to help you find deals on artificial Christmas trees. I'm of the opinion that you can never have too many Christmas trees, so this deal is right up my alley. How about you? Are you looking for a new tree this year? Click here to read the article. 

WKBN First News out of Ohio, reported the Salvation Army program that assists families in Mahoning County for the holidays will be opening applications soon. Check out there details here.

According to TastingTable.com, Costco already has the popular Christmas treat, Italian panettone, in its festive red box on the shelves. Read more here. Do you enjoy this treat? I do my best to make all our desserts in my kitchen, but the family enjoys indulging in those Christmas tins of popcorn.

Great to have you with us this week. We stop in Louisville, Kentucky--I've actually been there--where WDRB.com is talking about the Hallmark Channel filming in Norton Commons this coming week. Isn't it cool when filming takes place where you live? Check out the report here.

One little piece of news that you won't find in any article or report is that I've finalized my seasonal small town romance and have submitted it to a publisher. With any luck, I will hear back from them within the next few months. I'll pretend I can be patient.

Famous Christmas Events in Illinois Cancelled

 

Bah humbug! KDHL reported that two famous Christmas events in Illinois are cancelled these year. 

Because of construction at Union Station in Chicago, the popular Polar Express train ride won't be happening this year. With Wrigley Field hosting the NHL Winter Classic, that means Christkindlemarket is also taking a break. 

Sure hope both of these events are back in business for 2025!
