Christmas in the News: Hallmark Movie, Christmas in July for Furry Friends & for Maine's Children

 

Hard to believe a week has already passed. It's time for more Christmas... in the news.

Christmas in the News: The Boys' Vought, Christmas Tree in June & Hobby Lobby Christmas

 

Welcome back to more Christmas... in the news. We are edging closer to that time of year when talking about Christmas crafts and shopping is more normal. I'm seeing more news items about the holidays. 

We start with a TVLINE article from today about the Vought on Ice skaters, who performed "Let's Put the Christ Back in Christmas." You can read details here.

In Franklin, TN, NewsChannel5 out of Nashville reported on a family tradition that became a community tradition. And now, that family is lighting their Christmas tree in June for their ailing father and grandfather, who is battling cancer. Click here to read more of this touching story and watch the report. 

If you are ready to start your Christmas crafting, Fox 8 News out of Cleveland, OH, is reporting on social media posts talking about Christmas decorating and crafting supplies already on the shelves in Hobby Lobby stores. Christmas in the News: 2024 XBox Consoles, Christmas Maze, Decoration Tragedy & Christmas in July at Kaw Lake

 

Welcome back to the Christmas Year Round blog. Believe it or not, there are only 198 days until Christmas. It will be here before you know it. 

This week was filled with Christmas news. I chose some of the most recent Google results to talk about today.

Gamers everywhere will be thrilled to hear that Microsoft recently unveiled new consoles for the 2024 holiday season. Brian Fagoli, writing for betanews, talked about their announcement of three new Xbox Series X/S options. You can read his article here. 

Then we move to Vancouver, Canada, where CTV News featured 25 pictures of Enchant, the world's largest Christmas light maze outside of Vancouver's Olympic Village. You can view the article and check out the venue's website.

Our next stop is in Sanford, Florida, where local news reported on a fire at a warehouse that was said to house Christmas decorations. You can read about it here.

Christmas in the News Christmas Stock, Hallmark News & Firefighters Honored

 

Happy June! Hard to believe we are entering month six of 2024. Over the last few days, Christmas lovers have some cool news they will be happy about.

Variety reported that Hallmark Media is developing an unscripted series to follow superfans on a Christmas Cruise. The November 2024 cruise is sold out. Passengers will get to see some of their favorite Hallmark stars and enjoy fun Christmas traditions.

In other news from Hallmark, TVInsider and other outlets reported that Hallmark Channel's "Christmas in July" lineup has been announced, including new movies. Read more here!

We move across the pond to the BBC, who is talking about how shops are rushing to stock up for Christmas due to surging shipping costs. You can read more here.

We end today's news with a feel good story out of Hawaii. The Hawaii News reported that Kaua‘i firefighters were honored for the rescue of a man on the Kalalau Trail on Christmas Day in 2023.
